Can’t really add anything current to this thread since I’ve just started watching Case Closed/Detective Conan! It’s been a curiousity since I went to Japan and saw merchandise for it everywhere. See you guys in like 4 years!

Nah, the entire series is only around 500 hours of footage. Plus maybe another 50-60 for the movies and various spin-offs.
I’ve just picked up BanG Dream! YUME∞MITA. It’s CGDCT slice-of-life but the comedy is hitting for me, especially in the latest episode. Also, the story so far reminds me of Ave Mujica, which I enjoyed. I foresee myself watching it to the end.
P.S. It’s only the first week or so of the anime season but I’ve already got a solid contender for my favourite song of the season: Yume Mita’s ending theme Wonder of the Universe. The visuals’ very cute, and as for the vocals and melody, best to give the song a listen!
The ED is so cute!
Last week’s premieres
Both The World Is Dancing and Jaadugar were as good as I expected them to be, so I was most impressed with Sunflower Circus and Sparks of Tomorrow premieres. The former reminded me of my favourite all-female cast anime about girls with distinct personalities becoming good friends while chasing their dreams, and I adore those.
Goodbye, Lara had a strong start, as well. Loved the vibrant colours, and the way they packed The Little Mermaid retelling into one episode worked really well – now the story can take an unknown turn and go from tragedy in the foreign
landswaters to comedy in Japan. Please Excuse My Younger Brothers was better than I expected it to be, so it’s nice to see it has 24 episodes. I’ll see if I can finish it.
Polar Opposites Season 2 was, unsurprisingly but appreciatively, a pure delight.
100 Girlfriends Season 3 has no right to be this funny. I just love how it takes stupid or problematic tropes and makes it amusing and wholesome. No harem MC’s ever done it – and never will – like Rentarou does, and those fourth wall breaks remind me of my beloved Gintama. Keep doing what you’re doing, Hyakkano staff.
Draw This, Then Die! didn’t wow me like Sunflower Circus did, but it’s something akin to it and looks pretty fun. Maybe it will grow on me.
Drop zone
Recommendations from Iwamoto-Senpai - from the author of Nurarihyon, which I enjoyed when I could easily digest Jump’s shounen, so despite its bad production values I’m willing to give it an episode or two to see
all the guys from the key visualwhere the story goes. The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power - this one was boring and tropey but didn’t show the male lead yet, so it has a chance to redeem itself. What I didn’t expect, though, is that both The Ogre’s Bride and Kimiai would be even worse. A disappointing situation on the fantasy romance front.
Immediate drop
Yani Neko - did find the PV hilarious, but the episode itself was miserably unfunny. Plus, I really dislike movie references; they give me the ick for some unknown reason.
Let’s Go Kaikigumi - another one with the comedy that didn’t work for me.
Meta: @rikka@ani.social appears to be creating two posts per episode for a number of anime this season.
e.g. post no.1, post no. 2, both for episode 1 of Magi Lumiere
Could this be a bug? Or someone requesting for a thread even though one has already been created?
Thanks for pointing this out. I try to fix these when I notice them, but I have been on vacation the past two weeks, so I haven’t been as attentive as usual.
This duplication happens when rikka’s attempt at making a post initially times out because ani.social doesn’t respond, or responds super slowly. This means that rikka thinks that the post wasn’t made successfully, so she will try to make the post again when she next runs. However, sometimes that first post still gets made, and we end up with a duplicate.
Just finished To Your Eternity S03 and what I half expected turned out to be true.
There is an unanswered part. This one does not feels like part of the core story and I have not look into source material yet. I’d be grateful to anyone who knows…
What happen to the boy who got slapped? Pretty sure there is only one slap in the whole season so it's hard to miss.
He later died in his sleep in what look like an extreme case of ‘fall out of the bed’ but the anime did not reveal who did it or what actually happened.
A few ep later I half expect the whole thing to move on like it’s no one’s concern. And it did.
Started Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru expecting some cutesy romance.
Already rapey on first episode :|
