I just noticed this while rewatching the episode. She said this like battle aura is something literal, not some play on words. And later during the fight near the teleportation circle we also see how an attack from Elinalise with a naked blade on Atofe’s neck does not hurt her. So it seems some people in this world are protected from physical attacks by some kind of barrier? That’s not magic, though, because Zanoba sucks at magic. In one of the previous episodes, when the gang teleports to the flying fortress for the first time, I got an impression they were going in an order that corresponds to how much mana they have. I assumed that based on comments about how hard it was to teleport Rudy, who we know has disgusting amount of mana, and that Nanahoshi went first, and we know she has none. So Zanoba doesn’t have much mana either.
@edit
Or it could be magic, since Zanoba is just special (blessed child) 🤔It’s funny that Kishirika seems to spew out some bullshit but if you listen to what she says, instead of how she says it, it’s all true. When she said Atofe is the most brainless fool of all demon kings who will never listen to reason, she was telling the truth. Same about the collapsed tunnel, and Moore appearing helpful at first but actually scheming something.

<Pic Spoiler>
After all that chaos, Cliff gets a demonic eye at the end. What will its power be?
The first part of this episode is lightweight and funny. I was kind of expecting Rudeus doing some major damage to the Demon King given how OP he is now. But the magic duel where Moore is countering Rudeus magic is awesome to watch during second part.

Cliff gets a demonic eye at the end.
Please use a spoiler tag next time. It’s just a small detail and all but if you wouldn’t mind.
I agree the magic dual was really interesting!
Edited. Although I don’t think I would need to use spoiler tag for this since I am anime only and just guessing based on what happened at the end scene.
Ya my bad, someone else pointed out that it was made clear during the end of the episode, I just missed it. I even checked to be certain before commenting, I’m blind.
You even have a picture of it attached, I just suck.
While I agree that some people here should pay more attention to using spoiler tags (or just stop laying hints from source material altogether; nobody likes that, you’re not smart doing this, you’re just being an asshole, just stop, goddammit), in this particular case I think all hints to guess what OP said are there and I wouldn’t really call it a spoiler. Kishirika says:
That settles that! Now, farewell!
And walks away from Cliff, laughing proudly. And we can see Cliff crouching with his hand on his right eye. What else could have happened? Cliff was fine before. That demon who walked out of the cave did not touch him.
Ahhh okay, I somehow missed that scene.

I bet Eris is going to have a showdown with her in the future.

I thought Cliff was chosen as the runner because he knows some speed-boosting magic or stealth magic, but nope, he’s just legging it 🗿
Wouldn’t it make more sense to have Elinalise run to the teleportation circle while Cliff stay behind to help Rudeus with the fighting? I assume that Elinalise, who is a frontliner, would have a faster running speed.
Could it be that Cliff is totally useless in combat despite his past brags?
Lastly, has Rudeus given up on wielding a sword? With low cast time, he is less dependent on a frontliner for protection. But the common trope in such fantasy stories is to be a swordsman who uses magic.
Maybe they explained how to use and cultivate that plant only to Cliff
Nah, that doesn’t make sense.
Elinalise was with Cliff. It would make more sense to explain it to both of them at once.
Maybe she just didn’t give a damn, because Cliff was there. That wouldn’t be out of character for her 😅
I’d tend to agree if it’s a normal situation.
However, we have seen that Elinalise can get serious when it matters. And Nanahoshi’s life is on the line here.
Fair enough. But yeah, Cliff is kinda useless in combat. You can see him cowering when that one last demon comes out of the cave with teleportation circle. Also it’s Elinalise’s idea to send him for help, so it’s easier to agree to that than waste time to argue with her while she wants to send her husband to safety knowing she can survive the fight and he can’t.
peak fiction
