Huh, wow, it totally deserves an S2, but it’s so non-commercially appealing that I wasn’t expecting one.
It’s one of those series that did very well in Japan (iirc), but it just doesn’t translate as well overseas due to how rooted in Japanese history it is.
Glad to hear it did well in Japan; I really enjoyed it!
edit: just want to give credit to Season 1 for having one of my favorite EDs ever.
Dang, I just realized I never finished S1. I remember really liking the first several episodes, too! Not sure why I fell off, but this is a good reminder to get caught up.
