    Replying to myself, but watching the animation of Rozemyne getting captured makes me think that the LN’s version has some problems, too.

    Because it seems like the LN’s version of her being captured relies on Lessy being physically smaller than shown in the anime, but in order for Angelica to ride on top of Lessy, which is essentially in the same scene, you would think that it would have to be about the same size as shown in the anime.

    It is possible that in the process of Rozemyne fighting the net, Lessy could have gotten less mana and shrunk. Maybe that actually did happen in the LN and I just forgot. It’s also possible that Lessy was just already very small, and Angelica was riding on the top of a vehicle that was essentially smaller than her. That’s not inconsistent with the way magic works there, but it would surely look very strange.

    So, I guess the animators thought they’d fix the problem by having Lessy a reasonable size and having Rozemyne exit like she had just wrecked her car. But that doesn’t really make sense.

      I reread that part. This is just yet another example of the adaptation not giving a shit. In the light novel, Lessy is on his side, and Myne stands up, with her upper body half outside the window since Lessy is only half as wide as she is tall. That’s when she gets grabbed by the light rope and is pulled out of the window. The size of Lessy is the same in the anime, so there was absolutely nothing holding the adaptation back from doing the same here. But instead, they opted to have her climb out of the safety of Lessy like some idiot. At least they are consistent, since they prove in every single episode that they neither read the source material nor understood it.
