Haven’t watched the show yet but I might want to check it out. Thought I’d share this article that hit my RSS feeds. :)
It was a good show overall, but I agree that the ending was unsatisfying. Lara wanting to peace out and live on her own in a completely different city felt like it came out of nowhere and lead to nothing.
Granted, I haven’t seen the show, but it’s called Goodbye, Lara.
I assumed that was referencing her departure from the ocean.
I dunno, a big part of the show is that she was moving too fast because she’s looking for love for the wrong reasons, and wanting to live on her own and figure her shit out first makes sense to me. While it would have been nice to see them together more, I thought their little exchange about living together implied that this separation is temporary and once they were both ready, they’d be together again. I thought it was a touching, if bittersweet, ending.
Yeah, but she doesn’t need to move out of town to accomplish that. I think it would’ve been better if she would’ve just moved to her own apartment in-town. Still gains her independence, but without leaving behind all these human connections she worked so hard to make.
