Gainax has filed for bankruptcy after gross mismanagement drove the company into unmanageable debt and core employees left.

    And Hideaki Anno formed studio Khara, which has been financially supporting Gainax, and is a major creditor.

    Khara (and Anno) has now acquired the Gainax trademark and serves as the manager of the trademark.
