Premieres April 2024. I can confirm that a Gin Fizz is a great drink. Just remember to drink responsibly according to your local laws and regulations. Synopsis from AniList:
Genius bartender, Sasakura Ryuu makes the most incredible cocktails anyone has ever tasted. Seeking his “Glass of God”, individuals from all different walks of life visit his bar. With both a compassionate ear and a godly drink, Ryuu helps people with their problems.
Edit: In case you have trouble reading the recipe, I have transcribed it below:
Ingredients:
- Dry Gin - 45 mL
- Lemon Juice - 20 mL
- Sugar - 2 tsp.
- Soda water to taste
Directions:
- Shake all ingredients except soda and pour into tumbler.
- Add ice, fill with soda, and lightly stir.
…that’s not a gin fizz. A gin fizz has an egg white shaken with it.
It looks like Ryuu might need a little help from others himself.
Haha, you’re right. I hadn’t ever made one before, just ordered it, so I wasn’t sure what was in it, just knew it tastes good. It’s not a translation issue either since the text is written in English in Japanese media as well.
There might be something about them wanting to avoid advising people to consume raw egg?
Though I’m not sure that’s as much of a concern outside the US.
Eggs are considered safe to eat raw in Japan. So, perhaps the author is vegan?
In any case, I don’t have any gin on hand or I would try this modified recipe and see how it is.
A gin fizz has no egg traditionally. You’re talking about a silver fizz.
