The 10th anniversary event for the “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?” series announced on Saturday that the anime is getting a fifth season. The company unveiled a promotional video, teaser visual, and logo for “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V”.

    Is the anime version of this story any good? I have read most of the manga adaptation and it has good points and bad points, but seems to omit portions of the novels so it can be tough to follow sometimes. Wondering if the anime might be better in that regard.

      I haven’t read the light novel or manga.

      But I’ve watched every episode and the movie and the spin-off.

      And compared to most every other similar series, it’s miles ahead of keeping my attention+character development on top of good production and fight scenes/effects. ✅

      (Second only to Re:Zero for me personally)

      The three episode rule for fall 2023 season is killing me.

      It’s so-so. Heavily depends on the season but overall the LN does a way better job. The anime really struggles with his inner thoughts imo which takes out the tension in a lot of scenes

        I have run into this with other LN adaptations. The first thing cut in the adaptation is usually the inner monologue. Some series can make up for that through clever and expressive animation. Others just come across a bit soulless and character motivations can be lacking. I have this series on my LN to-read list, but I am working my way through the Konosuba novels right now.
