I’ve been really impressed with this series so far.
The initial premise is fairly boring, but once they kicked off the secondary plot with Mia it instantly became of one of my favorites. There’s a really great dichotomy between the “healing” story from Philia’s side and the struggles Mia is facing, and the loving relationship between the sisters is one of the most wholesome things I’ve seen in a long time.
This comparison with 0079 is really cool. https://bsky.app/profile/yuyucow.bsky.social/post/3lmv6zp2gc226
Though I suspect anyone new to Gundam will be feeling rather confused after this episode.
Also Cyberpunk.
The first half of this episode was amazing.
Ooh, nice, looks like they skipped ahead to get the second part of the plot started.
AKA Mia’s vengeance.
This is a great choice as that part of the story is IMO far more interesting, and I think they’re going do both in parallel which will provide an good balance.
I came here to suggest that exact image. 😀
Shield Hero as well. And his music is definitely the highlight of that series.
I’ve read the manga adaptation.
The first arc is extremely formulaic and kinda boring, but the second arc is awesome. At the current pacing both should be covered with a 12 episode season.
It focuses on Mia as she tries to get revenge on the people who wronged her sister while also trying to avoid the kingdom being destroyed due to a monster invasion.

The madmen really did it, they really ended the season with that legendary panel from chapter 37, and they even included Mimimi and Meme. And according to comments from the VA on Twitter even though it’s sped up in the episode they did record the entire thing, and it’ll be included as a BD extra.
Also laughed really hard at several of the 4th wall breaking moments in this episode, in particular the one complaining about the production team rearranging chapter order. 😅
I’m dying for a new season. Bibury really did an amazing job with this adaptation.
I enjoyed the Zarnag battle way more in the manga adaptation, it felt like a high-stakes battle with some real close calls, so much that and end of it instead of celebrating they just huddle together to calm down. Definitely one of my favorite moments of the manga.
That being said, at this point in the story Yuke is way more likeable in the anime adaptation. Early on in the manga he’s very lacking in confidence so they keep using the “Yuke does something amazing, thinks it was nothing special, everyone goes crazy about it” setup way too often.
Another welcome change is the post-battle handling… in the manga there was a dumb plotline about Yuke risking punishment for using an unregistered spell that they skipped here. But I do wish they kept the explanation on what exactly Prismatic Missile does, since it was a very fitting “trumph card” for Yuke - it’s a massive pile of negative status effects.
This is awesome news.
If you want to know what the series is about (and why I’m hyped for it), you can check the first chapter for free here: https://www.alpha-manga.com/manga/665000279/201
The manga for this one is surprisingly solid despite the overused premise. There’s a lot of work involved into building Elma (and Luce) into powerhouses, so a lot of battles are very close with them barely scraping by due to good team work.
If the production is solid this will definitely be a fun watch.
Favorites for this season are Pseudo Harem ED, Oshi no Ko S2 OP and Tower of God S2 OP.
Honorable mention to the Nokotan OP for the memes, and for the evolving credits for Tower of God S2, really like how they are a “season so far” summary.
Are they twins? just very close in age?
Blood siblings born less than one year apart, which is why they are in the same school year. Their last names are different because their parents divorced and one went to live with the father and the other with the mother.
Keeping this a secret is due to some kind of family issue, but I don’t think it’s been properly explained in the manga yet.
I really missed this series, glad to see it back even though the first half of S2 was kinda of a mess (in particular in pacing).
And this episode felt much better paced and directed than the previous cour, so I’m hopeful it’ll be a fun ride.
“S2 please” is my overall opinion of this season. In no particular order, I want more of:
Honestly one of the best seasons I’ve followed.
Besides the ones mentioned above I’d like to give a mention to “Brave Bang Bravern”, a completely crazy and amazing mecha series by Masami Obari that more people need to watch.
The VNs go like this:
Original Trilogy:
The Fruit of Grisaia -> The Labyrinth of Grisaia -> The Eden of Grisaia
They all got anime adaptations with the same names. I hear they are a fun watch but cut a LOT of content, in particular from the first game (12 episodes for a VN with an average length of 75h on VNDB).
Phantom Trigger:
Grisaia: Phantom Trigger Vol. 1 -> Vol. 2 -> Vol. 3 -> Vol. 4 -> Vol. 5 -> Vol. 5.5 -> Vol. 6 -> Vol. 7 -> Vol. 8
Takes place in the same universe but it’s an indepentent story, it only contains a few references to the original trilogy.
From the descriptions on Anilist, I believe the first movie adapted the first two volumes of the VN, and the second movie adapted the third volume.
Some series not mentioned yet.
