I like MIA, but I find it hard to recommend to people.

Yeah… That definitely explains some things. It’s such a shame, because other than the extremely uncomfortable scenes, it’s a very compelling story.
This. I love the story and how it is implemented but at some scenes I needed to pause to finish my internal rant of “what the fuuuuck. why did you include this scene in this way into the series?!”
It’s a great litmus test tbh, its too good of an anime to get caught up on something that doesn’t really matter
