It seems like every gacha title out today has hundreds of needlessly complex popups, daily strategies, loyalty rewards, special events, story events, crafting, house layout, friendship rewards, friendship rewards crafting that is completely separate from the three other crafting systems, simulated social media, poorly explained limited event currencies and the ever loving tendency to give me four pages of unskippable splash screen every fuckdamn time I go to a new tab

And there’s like 50 different tabs on the motherfucking homepage and no matter how hard you try you CANNOT clear all the notifications before new ones crop up

I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE FUCKING GAME

Can anyone suggest me something, Idgaf what it costs as long as the tutorial is under ten minutes and I don’t have to spend two fucking hours on dailies.

I don’t hence why I currently play 3 games: first GFL (mainstay, doing dailies and events), GFL2 (giving it a year to see if it’ll turn out into a sequel I’m interested in, it’s a bit more convoluted compared to the first game) and P5X (want to see if it’ll be fun in the long run, most likely won’t be a good fit for you). I’m afraid we’ll have to wait until someone comes up with a surprise hit again so companies have a new template to copy from.

The only things that come to mind right now are ones I’m not too familiar with so I might be completely off base. These would be:

    • Limbus Company - what I did hear about it make it sound like a simpler game in terms of resource management.
    • Snowbreak: Containment Zone - haven’t played this one since their pivot into 120% horny town but I remember it being pretty basic in regards to upgrades and items. Things may have changed since then so I can’t promise anything.

Is there any reason you’re focused on gacha with your search? Is this about a specific mechanic or just feeling of having a constantly updated game to enjoy?

Thanks, I might check out Limbus Company. I have Library of Ruina and liked it but about 2/3rds of the way through it kind of got bogged down in extra mechanics.

Maybe I’m just old and out of touch for mobile gaming

Not necessarily too old, it’s just that industry (in general, not just gacha) changes in the way that many of us don’t really like. That’s the price of pushing their way into mainstream. All we can do is look in less obvious places and try more, sometimes not obvious, titles - there might be a diamond or two hidden somewhere if one’s lucky enough.
