I agree in general, but banned or not, this info needs to be spread loud and clear. lemmy.ml is a horrible place. I haven’t been banned from any communities there, for what it’s worth.

I see similar behavior in the Eternity app, so I don’t think it’s specific to Jerboa.
Comments from other instances should arrive to yours no problem, as the bug only seems to affect outgoing stuff. If the other instance is running 0.19.0+, then of course those comments might be stuck.
Interesting. Yeah I tried too and it doesn’t work for lemmy.procrastinati.org
I figured someone more familiar with crontab would chime in. Thanks for the recommendation!
Edit: I’ve updated my cronjob to https://crontab.guru/#7_1-23/6_*_*_* and I’ll keep an eye out to make sure it works on Debian 12.
Beehaw is still running 0.18.4 so that might have something to do with it. I’d just wait and try again later.
Beehaw is defederated with some other large instances but they should be wide open to your instance.
It’s a pretty common bug for it to say Subscribe Pending. I think you’ll find that the longer your instance is online the more success you’ll have.
The workaround seems to be unsubscribing, giving it a few seconds, and clicking subscribe again. That can sometimes jog things into working.
Yes. It’s not just the community that you mentioned. Bans for any sort of comment that disagrees with the opinions of the mods or admins.
They spout rhetoric about echo chambers while they’re the worst example.
