😊 aaaaw
Now I can’t wait for my server to get it
So much cool stuff in there
Yeah I like that as well :)
I love XMPP to death but it has many issues as well. Both don’t work as you’d expect from a very basic chat application.
Hell yes, welcome!
Nope unfortunately that’s not possible on lemmy atm.
Several post have been made on this bug, it seems common. I even have a video here: https://feddit.de/post/739125
Is that the same thing you’re experiencing?
I am quite addicted nonetheless ;)
Why would this be not the right place?
Damn I am veeery excited!! Do you have an ETA? No pressure though :)
That’s interesting, why do you think so? Don’t they just take the load of a single user?
You are free to learn to program and write a user import routine for lemmy: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy
You have to create a new account. But that’s easy ;)
We, the users should make sure to stay on lemmy servers that use the open-source lemmy code. If other servers open up, who have closed source code, we should consider blocking them, at a minimum not support them by using their communities.
That will make sure that lemmy servers will keep using the open source code and thus will allow other people to spin up new servers.
No, on lemmy you can’t subscribe to users at all. What activitypub call groups is what lemmy uses. A mastodon user can subscribe to a community on lemmy, because mastodon allows for subscribing/following groups, but the other way around, following users from lemmy that are on any other platform is not possible.
The Dev said that it would be a huge amount of work to implement this and it doesn’t even fit into the linkblog style thing that lemmy is. How would the content of said user be shown to you here? It would get even more confusing fast.
I think the lemmy structure really annoys trolls and right-wingers. They could register on a server, but they would have to play by the rules (be nice, don’t be a nazi etc), which they really don’t want. So they want their own server, but quickly realize that they’ll be alone there with their miserable peers, which they also don’t like.
Yeah to me it’s more useful and fun than microblogging as well.
