It really does feel like there is no way to avoid cultural destruction as long as the main way of common understanding is shared language.

Maybe only something like accessible real-time translation technology would be the only solution, if there is a solution at all.

Huh. I’m reading the manga. It’s very shounen, friendship and morals. But not edgy beyond the initial (apparently mandated) betrayal. There are multiple love interests but no real harem unless you consider traveling with one guy and a bunch of women and children a harem.

The anime would have to really go off the rails to change that.
