I’m surprised that the still looks relatively close to the manga. It usually looks much worse.

Huh. I’m reading the manga. It’s very shounen, friendship and morals. But not edgy beyond the initial (apparently mandated) betrayal. There are multiple love interests but no real harem unless you consider traveling with one guy and a bunch of women and children a harem.

The anime would have to really go off the rails to change that.
