I don’t care for this Reddit holdover and might on my cakeday.
Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television: “removed”, “removed”, “removed”, “removed”, “removed”, “removed”, and “removed”.
Yeah we’d also very much like to see no one instance dominating the Lemmyverse, our own in particular: What is lemmy.ml?
Lemmy.ml has always been a niche site, and it will most likely stay this way. We don’t have any intentions to turn it into a mainstream instance, or set a goal of getting as many users as possible.
I’m not sure I would characterize what Blaze said in those posts that way, posts which weren’t theirs. Perhaps you’re shooting the messenger, or perhaps I’d need to re-read them.
This comment is pretty funny though:
LW is already much more active than lemmy.ml (18k monthly active users vs 2.5k: https://fedidb.org/software/lemmy/), so the system is working, people have left for a less politically biased instance
Apparently the neoliberalism of the imperial core is less politically biased 🤷 A real fish don’t know they’re in water moment.
For the moment at least. Whatever problem we had before, it seemed to get worse over time, eventually requiring a restart. So we’ll have to wait and see.
I misread OP: they’re talking about comment sorting, not to be confused with post sorting.

Okay… Would you please remove C----f------?
For better or worse “block” is the ActivityPub terminology for this, and ActivityPub is what the fediverse is built on. If subsections of the fediverse stray from our shared ActivityPub vocabulary, we start talking past each other. (But don’t take my opinion as a proclamation on account of my being an admin.)
We have gotten three reports on this post so far:
People file reports, but since mods of this comm are AWOL, we lemmy.ml admins—who don’t know anime/manga from a hole in the ground—have to respond to them. We don’t have the time or inclination to research the veracity of lilo/pedo/CSAM/whatever claims.

Please see: [SOLVED] How do you do spoilers on Lemmy?
🚫 All spoilers must be tagged!
That YouTube allows this seems like a sufficient heuristic to my ignorant ass. Thank you.
Community and @N3DSdude@lemmy.ml: What’s the deal with this post? We’ve received two reports on it, but also there are many upvotes. I don’t know anime from a hole in the ground, so I need some help here.
The reports:
Please consider lemmy.ml’s rule 3: No porn
Anglocentric self-awarewolf detected.
Another interesting concept that came from the discussion over that was “constructive downvote” - requirement of commenting why one downvotes a post.
Speaking only to this…
Hexbear chose to remove downvotes, and the “dunking” comments came to replace them. Getting ratioed is a thing, which purportedly started on Twitter.
The consensus on Lemmygrad came to be that (and I’m paraphrasing because I’m not sure of the original phrasing) “dissent without elaboration” is valid. We don’t always have the time or energy to articulate our dissent (and sometimes gish gallop doesn’t deserve it).
Until lemmy.world upgrades to 0.9.14, the cake is a lie: Cake days are 1 day off on leap years #2441
