The manga is so good. It makes me want to play a D&D character that cooks monsters.

The CGI is kind of jarring for me when used along with traditional animation. It’s such a stark contrast of smoothness of animation that it detracts from the experience for me. So I’d say either CGI or traditional, but not both.

I mean, is it? Because I’ve found it to be an overall better experience so far. Am I just not going to the right instances/communities? I mean, I get that there are some fucked up places in the Fediverse, but I haven’t been actively looking for them, and I haven’t accidentally stumbled across anything so far.

I briefly tried Jerboa, but I kept getting errors when trying to connect to some instances. I switched over to Connect, and that’s been working well for me so far. The dev is making consistent updates.
