Shield Hero. I loved the initial premise of an anti-hero doing what he could to just survive in a world that was against him. His only companion a slave that he was raising almost like a surrogate daughter, the two of them against the world.

I thought it was an interesting premise. Then the tone completely shifted and it turned into a generic power fantasy isekai where basically everyone loved him. Completely lost me the second they introduced Filo or whatever her name was.

Oh boy I can’t wait to learn more about diving!

Oh boy my favorite anime that’s definitely, absolutely about diving

It feels like Ghibli just won it for the sake of it being Ghibli. I won’t say I disliked the film. The visuals were great and the voice acting was very well done as usual. But yeah, plot left a lot to be desired. It felt like we were missing half a movie in the middle

As someone that read the manwha, honestly, if you’re here for a super well written and unique story, this isn’t for you. The big draw for me was the honestly really awesome art, and just fun power fantasy moments. The story isn’t bad, it’s more just that it’s just serviceable enough to connect those moments.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one that actually really enjoyed Tower of God and is hyped for a sequel as an anime-only

The art’s nice and overall I enjoyed it while actively binging it. However, I caught up super quick, and now it feels like an eternity between chapters. Kinda lost steam for me because of that.
