So I have a two part reply to this-

1. If notifications cause you that much distress, social media will be inherently damaging to your mental health. At that point, it makes sense to mute notifications for apps entirely.

however

2. Being able to mute a thread is not something that would subtract from anybody else’s experience, and can only add to people’s who use it.

So overall, I think this is a good idea

Loyalty? Not necessarily. I agree with the admin and moderation policy, so far decisions in the community have been discussed openly, and I don’t generally find most of the users obnoxious.
