Not just because they use a Japanese character, but if the whole comment is just foreign characters there’s no good reason it couldn’t detect that.
This us what the language setting is meant for. You’d think there’d be rudimentary language, checks at least at the character set level. Meanwhile, ι ψαν σςιτψη το Φρεεκ ςιτη νο προβλεμ.
Oh wow, some big names for the English version!
Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe, Karen Fukuhara, Mark Hamill, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh
The reason it’s not implemented is probably just because they haven’t got around to it yet.
Press your finger.
“Welcome to the Hydraulic Press Channel,…”
Shonen gets old and tiresome real fast.
We either have tech, or politics.
You forgot about Star Trek memes. Although often those are about tech and politics.
No “legitimate interests” are the things they try to shove through anyway when you reject cookies. Typically you have to expand or click another tab to get the legitimate interest options.
I’ve actually seen a petrol station with facial recognition cameras inside, they had a notice about using it for the purpose of theft provention, “alongside their legitimate interests”. This was on a little card next to the till, but there was no clear way to opt out, there was a QR code for more information but no specific instructions on how to refuse. Just by walking into the store they basically claim the right to use your likeness for the purpose of training AI or whatever.
Not everyone is thorough or scrupulous with their terms and conditions. Many use third party services that do these things, but don’t detail it fully in their terms.
Yes, the issue is with web developers not following standards. However, because all of them fail to do this, the problem ends up being with the browser that doesn’t support everyone’s non-standard developments.
I just want my text in the centre of the page (not with rows stretched across a widescreen monitor) and for things to not jump about as they load. Figure out where things should go, then display it.
How I used machine learning to predict my lunch
Colour me intrigued.
Yeah I mean I don’t understand it either. Telegram is bad enough for me, can’t be assed with Discord.
Lots of users gush over Discord for some reason. My impression is that more technically minded people don’t really like it, but your average user uses it for almost everything and encourages more services they like to use it. Hence why many reddit subs moved to Discord - the mods didn’t necessarily prefer it, but they were sent an overwhelming number of requests from their users.
Some people know how it works, but no one takes the time to explain in plain language exactly how.
No surprise, given that it’s made for and by software programmers.
I prefer the left alignment, but I’m glad to hear they finally fixed the combined button thing. I still won’t stand for the right click menus and general fuckery with settings pages and keyboard shortcuts.
From the man himself lmao
Again??
Edit: I know the last wasn’t DDOS, but still.
I hope you don’t expect that to convince me to upgrade. That doesn’t even make up for what they did to the taskbar.
Also FYI I think lemm.ee has some automation that blocks these. I don’t ever seem to get them, yet when I check other instances I can see them. Either that, or our admin are just hot on this stuff and ban them early on - both of these users were banned 3-4 days ago.
lemmy.tf seems to be a problem instance, it’s still running v0.19.0 and doesn’t have captcha for sign ups.
