  • Welcome and enjoy your stay. Here are a lot of communities with similar interests, but still a bit less content. It’s growing however. I sadly still visit Reddit too often, but I always open Lemmy Connect app first.

I hate the ever growing hidden ads on Reddit. I spot them daily now. Threads created to clearly sell you a product or software, with astroturf comments “wow this is freaking amazing. I’m downloading it right now.” sure you enjoyed this okayish post so much and it totally doesn’t sound obvious, that there are 10 more comments in this 15 comments thread, all saying the same. Or this unnatural amount of votes. 🤢🤮

I found it hard to tell that it’s AI. Both thumbs are on a position where they’d not be visible by that angle. I think the abnormal long index finger is the best giveaway. Haven’t seen much else telling. I’ve seen real artists do mistakes like that as well.

AI should have a Tag, on the other hand…does it matter any longer? I’d say ‘OC hand crafted’ should have a Tag, because AI will be harder and harder to tell apart, as we move on with technology.

On the other hand, tools like Photoshop even include AI natively. Is it AI if I use its auto fill? What if I let AI fix a face or just the background? What if it’s 3D with a filter to look 2D, isn’t that auto generated too? Some tools AI generate the image instantly while you draw, basically guided drawing.
