I think piped is able to bypass region locks.

Something I wish back on Boost for Reddit was a separate free app and a paid separate app without ads and trackers, but it’s something Google apparently doesn’t allow anymore. Reddit is fun was able to have reddit is fun gold because they had the separate app before the rules went into affect.
That’s nice thing about rss too. With Feeder on Android it has blocking filters to apply the same keyword based filters. Useful if you have a broad rss source that pulls from various sources and find some sources useless. And there’s categories you can set to separate things out so there’s like tech news, game news, international news, economy, etc. And with compact view it looks like a traditional social media subscription feed, and I find myself actually reading the articles with the comments not being the draw with none to begin with.
I found rss has been the best way to stay up to date over user curated articles that itself has its own biases in what they choose to submit. Just seeing the list of news from even one source without some voting or submission based algorithm at play kind of showed how much people submit the most clickbait or attention grabbing articles to try to get karma. Especially some instances depending on how politically driven they are to push their agenda to everyone. So rss has seemed preferable for a very broad look to see what’s going on with current events. Has been the best delivery system I’ve found on the internet so far with more a time of published based feed than a curated algorithm of social media.
I moved to RSS for overall news, so it’s helped to not have to be so careful with keyword based blocklists and keyword based community blocklists. I think that’s been one of the better things to come from this reddit event where I’ve moved towards rss over social media driven news posting.
Connect for lemmy instance block has been helpful. Helps clean up communities in one go if you find you don’t like a majority of the communities from an instance and they seem too active populating /c/all and hurting discovery of communities you might be interested in from during a quick browse.
Fediverse isn’t active or big enough to sustain subscribed like reddit. Some communities just die out too, so new is a way to discover new communities of interest.
I’m just as baffled that I had to comment myself. It’s like a thread bump from a forum. Just fascinating but makes sense when lemmy was even smaller than it is now.
I just remembered how waiting two freaking years to get the ending that Got did made it so much worse than if the airing of final season hadn’t been so dragged out.
Really glad I just got Aot over with quickly by reading the Manga over waiting however many years it’s been since they announced the “final season” to get the ending that it did. It would have been another GOT type disappointment, since if I’m made to wait that long then I’m expecting something legendary like I did for GOT.
Certainly. Waiting two years for Game of Thrones. Two very long years then getting the ending that it got made it so much worse than if the wait and reveal hadn’t been dragged out.
So glad I just finished out Aot through the Manga and got it over with for the ending that was certainly an ending over however many years this show has been dragged out for and still not concluded for the ending that is an ending.
Maybe two years ago.
Advertising and analytics. I wish there was a separate boost for lemmy without those type of stuff in it, but the in app purchase is supposed to disable all that. Can look at the difference in requests the app makes with the in app permission versus without it.
That makes sense to use a cracked Boost in that case. I’m more in the camp of burn as much bridges as possible from reddit, so no account use, interactions, and wiped my content which is why Stealth has been preferable for me. Especially with the Privacy front end option as opposed to a direct reddit.com access.
As for NSFW content stealth displays it all.
Why bother going through all that trouble of continuing to provide reddit account based information, and then being tempted to engage with the platform and add value to it by providing comments for other people to reply to. Like the reddit yearly highlights is enough proof of much data they collect on users.
I say just settle for Stealth if you want to use reddit on mobile. It’s a reddit app that has no option to log in so is a pure lurk mode app. You can subscribe and save posts locally and export it the way newpipe works. It uses teddit instances or a web scraper to access content.
I’m just excited to see something DC that won’t be live action, since so many of those have been absolutely crap. This has a better chance of being better if DC brings their A game like they have for previous DC animated media.
Yes to Violet Evergarden. Think it’s one of those anime that people who don’t like anime will like, since feels more grounded in presentation and the animation is really good too.
Yes resurrection! Welcome back for the next chapter!!!
Yeah, Oddtaxi is one I’ve been planning to watch with a lot of random clips from it I’ve seen like the Capoiera.
Gundam is awesome. I got into it after I got into Gunpla and wanted to find out about the series. Zakus got the best design. I’ve seen the first movie trilogy, but not the rest yet. Was the oldest anime I’ve seen and it held up well.
I’ve seen Oshi no Ko mentioned a lot. Is it really good?
I ended up reading the webtoon because of this anime. Haven’t kept up though with the hiatuses, and finding I prefer reading a volume worth of content than a slow drip feed.
Rachel is also the best.
