they haven’t made anything good in a while anyway. what have they been doing all this time?

En from Dorohedoro, Alucard, Guts, pink hair Dinosaur Girl, Black Hanekawa, Hitagi Senjougahara, Koko Hekmatyar, Saichi Sugimoto, Tokushirou Tsurumi, Asirpa, Saitama, Saya (Blood), Thorkell, are some of the best, but I feel like I am missing the very best
tfw you got dylsexia and are socially aardvark
weird how the first two scenes look like a sidescroller video game. maybe it’s a video game adaption?
The generation that grew up with these anime is now old enough to produce anime themselves, so I think we’re about to see a lot more of this.
I see a lot of this now. Some “thing” I always wanted, that used to be really niche, that I actually see many other people shilling for as well now. I guess, it’s my generation’s turn in the sun now?
is this a reboot of Armitage III? lmao
Also takes place on Mars and is about androids.
It’s a masterpiece. Peak 90s anime.
I honestly hope cyberpunk makes a comeback and oversaturates the market again like in the 90s.
thanks, I’ll have a watch
Does anyone know any good comedies? I like actual dedicated comedies, like The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
I’ve just now noticed that there actually aren’t all that many. If you browse by comedy tags you only find shows that have some jokes and “haha goofy” moments but aren’t really comedies.
You know something that is comedy first and everything else later. Most shows listed as comedy are like 10 different genres before they are a comedy.
Something that actually makes you laugh instead of just producing a smirk.
I hope that makes sense. The less popular the better.
spirited away
this show is way better than I expected
everyone says Pluto is great, but I started it and it’s revoltingly bad
Claymore is the only one I’ve watched that comes close to the feel of Berserk, tho they aren’t on the same level. And if you like Eureka 7, Last Exile and Gargantia on the Verduous Planet are very similar. Also I’m watching Xam’d now, it’s also similar, but it’s not very good compared to these.
Have fun
Tokyo Ghoul first season is amazing, after that it gets progressively more unwatchable IMO, but if you have the time it’s okay.
Here are some of my favorites, excluding the ones we already talked about: Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Black Lagoon, Golden Kamuy, Your Lie in April, Kill La Kill, Ergo Proxy, Cowboy Bebop
And I know what you mean, all of these you should be in the right mood for, otherwise it would be a waste.
These are also nice: Trigun (everything except Stampede), Claymore, Eureka 7, Last Exile, Gangsta, Jormungand, Gargantia On The Verduous Planet, Dagashi Kashi, Gun Grave, No Guns No Life, Outlaw Star, Michiko & Hatchin, Dimension W, Violet Evergarden, Hellsing Ultimate, Space Dandy
Most of these are adventure/action/scifi/postapocalyptic, crews of people/outlaws often on ships or space ships. That is my thing.
don’t you like red rockets? that one instance entirey dedicated to red rockets will probably feel insulted by this
all of those were great, except Magical Destroyers wasn’t really my thing.
If you tell me which ones, I might be able to give you some more interesting recommendations
Nothing in particular, I just like this one. I guess unique catchy music and nice visuals that aren’t too convoluted or hectic.
I don’t like 99.99% of openings, so I’m pretty picky. Most suffer from generic overproduced music and generic visuals IMO. Sometimes one is great, but not the other. Rarely do they both fit together harmoniously like one unit. And many ops are often choppy, like playing a note wrong but for visuals. Even most of my favorite show’s OPs suck. I’m not gonna give any examples, because I don’t want to insult anyone’s tastes lol.
I like the OPs of Dorohedoro, Girls Last Tour, Serial Experiments Lain, Origins: Spirits of the Past, Chobits, Ghost in the Shell: ARISE op2, Mieruku-chan, Tomo-chan Is a Girl, ofc season 1 Tokyo Ghoul, Magical Destroyers
Pretty sure I forgot a few, but that’s mostly it.
Tokyo Ghoul, Magical Destroyers, Origin: Spirits of the Past are by far the best, they just hit different. Especially that last one nails the synchronization between the visuals and the music.
I don’t really see a pattern in any of these, so not what I like about them, other than:
that cover art is great
thank god for professional subs
