There are several cases where you’ll be limited to console only, or log files, or many many other situations. Good coding practices just makes life easier all around.

Don’t delete printf statements…wrap them in a “if (DEBUG)” function. You still reduce the log storage costs while simultaneously expanding the code base and giving yourself a way to debug the system later.

You can’t do that…Connery would just mount and fsck everything that moved instead of fixing the system.
