  • What I watched this season:

    Gundam GQuuuuuux

    • This could have needed a few more episodes to flesh out the character more
    • As someone who hasn’t watched all of the original Gundam stuff, I missed out on a lots of the references and was confused at a few moments
    • yuri-bait >:(
    • otherwise a very fun watch tbh

    Rock is A Lady’s Modesty

    • super fun throughout!

    Apothecary Diaries Season 2

    • Loved the intrigue and the increased political scope this season
    • Maomao be Maomaoing

    To Be Hero X

    • The animation is jaw-droppingly beautiful
    • The first episodes instantly hook you
    • The later stories didn’t grab me as hard but I’m gonna watch this to the end

The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom

    • This one surprised me!
    • I was expecting a run-of-the-mill otome slop story, but what I got was a revenge-plot fuelled by sisterly love
    • Mia is best girl
    • definitely one of the better otome out there

  • I watched up until the latest episode. It did not improve and kind of got worse in a way?

    Spoilers below

Not only has the protag now fully accepted that she is the prince’s prisoner, sometime between episode 4 and 5 she even started to like him out of nowhere?? (Right after she found out that he was sleeping in a secret room with direct access to her prison chambers. She wasn’t even allowed to prevent him from entering until she finally managed to set some boundaries btw)

This episode actually kind of looped back to the original premise in a sense, since it’s about Leticia becoming jealous of a mysterious beautiful woman that Clarke seems to be flirting with. (In episode one, Clarke tried to make her jealous by hiring a girl to accompany him to a ball) She ends up escaping in order to confront him about it, and the whole thing gets resolved with her more or less admitting that she’s ok with marrying him now but that she will need some time.

I guess it’s going to be a regular rom-com from here on out, so I’m dropping it. The fact that she’s still a prisoner is not put into question even once.

The only reason I even watched so far was to see how this train-wreck of a story continues, but I’ve had my fill now and will drop it.

  • Favourite of the season: Oshi no Ko without competition, the animation quality and story were both amazing! There were some scenes that go so hard that I’m sure they’re still going to be talked about for years.

Biggest disappointment: Tower of God S2. I really looked forward to this, but the story didn’t pick up until the final two episodes of the first cour :/ The animation quality was also pretty mid. I’m still looking forward to the second half though…

Kinda meh: Elusive Samurai. At first, I got pulled in by the fantastic animation and interesting premise, but the follow-up didn’t really live up to the initial hype. It’s still entertaining to watch though, even if I think the way the protag is portrayed and treated by the cast is kinda…sus, sometimes
