Always running in the background.
These can however get stuck sometimes. It’s harmless but you can fix it by re-subscribing and then reloading the page.

I really liked SAO and really didn’t like the first season of this, so perhaps?
I think that’s an absolutely valid concern.
In the fediverse, we have some tools against abuse of this though because every Gold application would be public just like upvotes are.
if you also target low score posts first
That’s not a good metric either. There are many low scored posts I found on Reddit that were immensely helpful for some niche issue I was having.
While I’d still prefer to keep it, I’d agree that content meant for entertainment such as memes aren’t as valuable for long-term archival though. You can always get entertainment in so many places and forms but you can’t revive lost knowledge.
The most value memes could have would be for historical analysis.
I liked Reddit Gold when that’s all there was. A super-upvote conveying “I’d pay money for this posting”.
The weird tiers they added later weren’t an improvement on that but fine I guess and the stupid icon thingies they have now? They’re horrible.
So, I’d be in favour of something like the old Reddit Gold but I wonder how it could even work in the fediverse.
How well does it work currently?
Well, Lemmy shouldn’t 502 in the first place. That’s the root cause. The apps should handle that gracefully though, especially given how commonly Lemmy throws a 502.
Take it as an error, tell the user about it and then retry with exponential back-off.
The cause is a 502 from lemmy.
Jerboa’s handling of that error is also terrible but that’s another issue.
No, the server gave a 502 instead of a JSON and Jerboa doesn’t handle that gracefully.
actual Nazis or like far-right wackos and MAGA nuts
Is there much of a difference nowadays?
Attack on Titan the Final Season second half last part the last 3 minutes of the last chapter of the final arc of the last …
This wouldn’t really solve the issue as the user could rather simply create as many accounts as they like to circumvent per-account limits.
