This is a list of most changes to the sporting regulations. It is not meant to be entirely exhaustive but it is most of the changes in pink in the official regulations on the FIA website.

Note: Some of these changes were sporting notes from last season which have now been formally codified with their inclusion in the regulations. If it seems to you like any regulation change is something that was already occurring last season, this will be why.

• The Manufacturers World Championship is now formally written into the regulations alongside the drivers and teams championship.

• There has been a clarification as to the definition of a Rookie Driver. A driver who has never participated in a Competition will be considered a “Rookie” until the end of the season of their first participation or until they participate in two competitions in different seasons. Rookie FP sessions do no count as Competition participation.

• It is now required that the car (And any personnel needed to operate it) of the winning team must be at the FIA Prize Gala alongside the driver’s finishing 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the championship & the team principal of the winning team.

• The entry fee per Competitor per season has increased from €135,825 to €145,600.

• Time penalties or drive-through penalties being converted into grid drops if a driver finishes outside the top 10 or if they retire from the race are now guaranteed as the wording has changed from ”Stewards MAY Impose” to ”Stewards WILL Impose”.

• It has been further clarified that grid drops will be served at the next race rather than the next competition.

• Further clarification that the only way to circulate through the pit lane is via the fast lane and that the working lane is for either pit stop or transitioning from the garage to the fast lane. Circulating through the working lane behind a car that is being pushed back to their garage is strictly forbidden.

• The allowance for competitors to paint or make pit stop marks is now formally removed (It is the job of the Promoter of the Championship to lay down the pit boost markings).

• During any pit stop, the person in charge of releasing the car must stay at all times on the garage side of the car.

• Burnouts and wheelspins are strictly forbidden in the pitlane. These will be monitored and reported to the stewards.

• For Wheels not fitted on the car, they are not be washed from the beginning of FIA scrutineering until the end of the race. For wheels fitted on the car it is until the end of post-race Parc Fermé.

• Competitors must comply with both the minimum and now Maximum tyre pressures.

• When teams are not using a common supplier for wrapping and stickering their cars, competitors will be able to get a pass and armband for such an individual which will have limited access to the circuit prior to on track sessions.

• Pit Boost units will no longer be sealed by the Technical Delegate.

• During all Free Practice and Quali sessions only those lap times which were achieved by crossing the Finish/Control Line on the track will be counted for the Classification.

• During the Group Stage of Quali, removing tyre/s from the car and fitting them back again in the same position is not considered a change of tyre and therefore is not be permitted. Swapping tyres from right to left or changing at least one tyre is considered a change of tyres and therefore minimum times between Pit in and out must be respected.

• Group sessions have been reduced from 12 minutes to 10 with the requirement to do a lap in the first 6 minutes having been removed.

• Cars who progress to the Duels from the Groups are allowed to charge for 5 minutes between the two sections of quali.

• Should Free Practice or Quali not take place, the grid for the race will be defined based upon the Drivers’ Championship. Should that also not be possible, it is as the sole discretion of the Stewards.

• It is not mandatory to use the total amount of Attack Mode time allocated during the race. However, it is still mandatory to activate the Attack Mode the defined number of times.

• The Race Director now can inform all lapped cars to move the side of the track and let all lead lap cars overtake them. These lapped cars would then rejoin at the back of the field, respecting their order (It is presumed but not stated that they would NOT be unlapped in the classification should this happen).

• Under Full Course Yellow Conditions, it is no longer mandated that cars maintain their distance to the car in front and behind. Simply that they slow to 50kph and stay in single file.

• The FIA Medal now official counts as a Trophy and will be presented during the podium ceremony.
